Recycled Spiral Notebook with Matching Color Pencil Ballpoint
The 2011 catalog from Sweda USA arrived at the office today. Manufacturer Sweda USA currently brands their eco-friendly offerings under the name Sweda GREEN. I suggest they might want to rethink that to something like Sweda RAINBOW, because everywhere in this line is color, color, color.
For example Sweda USA now carries six journals with recycled content covers and backs and offers 80%-100% recycled content interior note pages, to include the MP778 Mini Recycled Color Spine Pocket Jotter, MP777 Recycled Color Spine Spiral Notebook, MP577 Recycled Notebook with Matching Paper Pen, MP977 Recycled Color Cover Spiral Notebook, MP822 Recycled Fold-Over Notebook, and MP888 Recycled Spiral Notebook with Matching Color Pencil Ballpoint. All of these items minus the MP778 mini jotter come standard with a pen, though not all pens offered are of eco-materials.
New for 2012 are the MP822 Recycled Fold-Over Notebook and the MP888 Recycled Spiral Notebook with Matching Color Pencil Ballpoint, so let us take a moment to look at these guys in more detail.
First, they look good. Both journals come in five colors, black, blue, green, orange, and red. Both come with matching accent “pencil” pens, which are recycled paper barrel pens designed to look like pencils.

Both feature a closure system, a magnetic clasp in the case of the MP822 Recycled Fold-Over Notebook and a matching color band in the case of the MP888 Recycled Spiral Notebook.
Both come in at $3.99 EQP with a one color imprint on their front cover, 4″h x 2″w on the MP822 and 4″h x 3″w on the MP888.
The clean, crisp lines of these jotters give them a professional look and feel, and the end-user will need to be told the item is eco-friendly if that is what your branding is promoting, as the quality and craftsmanship of the Sweda notebooks scream quality much louder than “green”.
