USA Made Elgin 25oz Bottle

The large double sided imprint on the ELGIN 25oz gives a lot of room for messaging.

It turns out that the Elgin 25oz water bottle from the Express Line is Made in the USA.

Not really sure how this one got past us because this office loves this bottle.

The Elgin is your basic squeeze sports bottle, with a very clean profile. The bottles come in BPA-Free clear plastic or jet black BPA-Free pearl plastic bodies, and Express Line offers a host of color options for lids.

The mix of cap options lets designers match art colors to caps for a very retail, very cool looking end product.

This USA made, BPA-free bottle has a common threaded, push pull cap, so easy access for adding ice, and easy to open on the go.

The only drawback seems to be that it has a maximum two color  imprint, however those two colors can be a perfect PMS match if needed.

The big plus of course is the huge front and back 6-1/4in x 2-1/4in imprint area, or full wrap of 6-1/4in x 7-1/5in. With an end of the year sale price of $1.99 EQP, that is a lot of billboard for your marketing message on a USA made, BPA-Free bottle.

Printing logos to match cap colors on Elgin 25oz gives a very clean, retail look to bottles.

Schools, gyms, hospitals, and those marketing programs working around fitness, team sports, and health, are all prime candidates for the Elgin. Also programs needing a low cost USA bottle with a high perceived value.

Update: World Famous Retread Jar Opener Goes to Presidential Inauguration

100% recycled materials, Made in USA

Remember this post from Jan 2009?

This is not about politics. This is about one heck of a great promotional product. Why?

Because it is four years later and I still have this jar opener in my kitchen that I use at least once a week.

Four years later and the World Famous Recycled Jar Opener from our friends at Americanna is still working, still of value, still opening jars and peeling garlic, still getting the word out there as a promotional item.

Sure, a few Inauguration-printed World Famous Recycled Jar Openers may not have found such a long-lasting and appreciative home. But I am also sure that most likely have. Settling into a nice kitchen and being useful, and promoting, always promoting.

Still Working…

And those World Famous Recycled Jar openers will likely be in that house for another four years, and another four years after that, regardless of who ends up in the White House this November.

My point is that is a heck of a run for a promotional item that costs less than $0.42.

Someone, anyone, name another promotional item at that cost, made in the USA from recycled materials, which has so much messaging space, 100+ shapes to pick from, and THAT MUCH LONGEVITY.

I really do not think such a item exists.

Cotton Tees Without Dye

As the summer event season is in full swing, our office is receiving many requests for event tee shirts. A lot of folks want sustainable alternatives although many planners are disappointed when they find out the cost of bamboo or recycled or organic content tee shirts. They are also disappointed by the fact that most of these shirts are made overseas – although printed in the USA.

When considering sustainable tees planners often get blinded by content, stressing the recycled cotton or recycled water bottle (rPET) / organic cotton blends. But there is another option I urge folks to consider, and that is the option of non-dyed tee shirts.

The fact is all cotton tee shirts are plant material, that means they are biodegradable (it is just cotton people, and FYI a recycled content rPET tee shirt is recycled plastic, so what happens to rPET once the tee shirt hits the landfill?).

A cotton shirt without dyes is a cotton shirt that skipped perhaps one of the most polluting aspects involved in processing cotton. In our industry these shirts are often called natural tees, and nearly every manufacturer offers the natural tee option in their line, whether the shirts are of sustainable materials or not. (Take a look at Anvil’s impressive sustainable line and see if you can spot all nine natural options.)

Even better may I suggest a natural cotton tee shirt, Made in the USA, for use in the USA. No dyes and less of a carbon footprint, as there is no overseas shipment of goods to the US. American Apparel, Anvil, UltraClub Collection by Bodek and Rhodes, and other manufactures are producing made in the USA tee shirts, many of which have the natural option.

Additionally it costs money to dye shirts so non-dyed natural shirts are often a little less expensive than dyed shirts of the same model. A non-dyed tee tends to have a parchment like color which does age with time and wear.

So if you are looking for a sustainable tee option, consider the 100% cotton natural tee shirt, and if possible buy local, i.e. USA Made. The planet and your wallet may both thank you.

I am often asked about Made in the USA items, and our clients are often surprised by how many items the promo industry actually offers that are made here in the good old USA.

Indeed there are many manufacturers in our industry producing Made in the USA promotional products.

“Metalike” Union Made BPA-Free Tritan Bottles for the 4th

MXB34 - 36 oz. ShimmerZ Mountain Bottle

Garyline is now producing a line of what they are calling Metalike water bottles. These bottles are actually PBA-Free Tritan Copolyester, a very high grade of plastic from world-class resin manufacturer Eastman based in Tennessee.

As I have written before Tritan Copolyester is a type of plastic with several key characteristics including high degrees of clarity, toughness, heat resistance, and chemical resistance (no leaching to the liquid or vice versa). The Tritan Copolyester is the same high quality copolyester resin that is used by such retail brands as Nalgene and Camelback in their bottle lines.

So this new line of bottles from Garyline is giving you a really high quality, metal looking water bottle, that is less expensive, easier to clean, and much lighter than a stainless steel bottle.

With 16 styles to choose from the Garyline Metalike line have a style and price point for just about any target audience. With campaign season just around the corner Made In The USA water bottles will likely be in demand for campaign events and fundraisers.

Items like the MXB34 – 36 oz. ShimmerZ Mountain Bottle are a good representative of the complete line. This U.S. Made / Union Made 36 oz. Metallic Poly-Pure Mountain Bottle is molded with food-safe plastic, is dishwasher-safe, and of course BPA-free Co-polyester.
