100% Recycled Credit Card Size Ice Scrapers

Credit Card Ice Scrapers

Here is another smart and practical promotional idea from Garyline that I think is great for this time of year, the 100% recycled material 3250 Credit Card Ice Scraper.

I have written before about the sustainable materials line from Garyline, and how it always seems to be practical as well as creative. Currently working with a pool maintenance client we got to talking about inexpensive ideas to keep their brand in front of their client during the winter months.

A simple idea presented at that meeting was to imprint the Credit Card Ice Scraper with two simple  taglines. Either, ‘Winter is Here, Is Your Hot Tub Ready’ for clients with hot tubs, or ‘Spring is Coming, Is Your Pool Ready’, for clients with pools. These items would be left during services scheduled for December, January, and February, and also given away/sold during the winter months at the client’s retail locations.

It is a simple idea to keep client’s name in front of their customers during this traditionally slow period for pool services, while at the same time reminding current and possible clients that pool maintenance is key to proper pool upkeep.

Made in the USA and Union printed, the Credit Card Ice Scrapper runs in both recycled materials and standard materials, with BLACK, ECO (TAN) and DARK GREEN the only color options available in the 100% recycled material. As the name suggests product size is about the size of a credit card at 3 3/8″W x 2 1/8″H. An optional keyring attachment is available as well.

Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle

27oz Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle

Bronx based Garyline has developed a new material by combining 95% Post-Consumer Recycled PET with 5% Natural & Renewable PLA. Made of this new material, the 27oz. Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle from Garyline is being advertised by Garyline as a true 100% Green, Made in the USA sports bottle.

Normally when the promotional items industry is working with plant resins (basically plastics from renewable plants instead of petrochemicals) it is because of the biodegradable properties of these materials.

With the Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle from Garyline, the use of plant resins seems to have been done for more cosmetic reasons, namely the high quality finish given to the recycled plastic, by adding 5% plant resin. According to the Garyline website “the combination is eco-friendly and gives the bottles a naturally pearlescent shine.”

With another long, hot summer in front of us, it is great to see more options for sustainable and USA Made water bottles. And Garyline is correct, the Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle does have a shinier look to it than your standard recycled bottle, at least the ones we saw a few years ago.  It seems eco and color are no longer diametrically opposed phrases in our industry.

Yes the Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle does come in Pearl Green, but the other two colors for this new item are a lovely Pearl Blue (great for summer seaside events) and Pearl Pink (great for healthcare and breast cancer awareness walks).

This BPA-Free bottle is made in the USA and Union printed. They are recommended for hand-wash only. With wrap the Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle have a great imprint area, covering nearly the complete bottles at 2 1/2″H x 9″W Wrap with 1 1/2″ gap.

So far the Eco-Friendly Pearl Sports Bottle is the only bottle from Garyline using this blended material, however I would certainly like to see more.

“Metalike” Union Made BPA-Free Tritan Bottles for the 4th

Garyline is now producing a line of what they are calling Metalike water bottles. These bottles are actually PBA-Free Tritan Copolyester, a very high grade of plastic from world-class resin manufacturer Eastman based in Tennessee.

As I have written before Tritan Copolyester is a type of plastic with several key characteristics including high degrees of clarity, toughness, heat resistance, and chemical resistance (no leaching to the liquid or vice versa). The Tritan Copolyester is the same high quality copolyester resin that is used by such retail brands as Nalgene and Camelback in their bottle lines.

So this new line of bottles from Garyline is giving you a really high quality, metal looking water bottle, that is less expensive, easier to clean, and much lighter than a stainless steel bottle.

With 16 styles to choose from the Garyline Metalike line have a style and price point for just about any target audience. With campaign season just around the corner Made In The USA water bottles will likely be in demand for campaign events and fundraisers.

Items like the MXB34 – 36 oz. ShimmerZ Mountain Bottle are a good representative of the complete line. This U.S. Made / Union Made 36 oz. Metallic Poly-Pure Mountain Bottle is molded with food-safe plastic, is dishwasher-safe, and of course BPA-free Co-polyester.

Colors available are Copper, Metallic Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Lime Green, Metallic Red, and Silver. There is even a seasonal Metallic Pink that is currently on closeout.

Garyline Offering Recycled Cotton Tote Under $2 Imprinted

The B15CR Recycled 15″ Cotton Tote from Garyline is a breath of fresh air in a category segment that is often over priced and over thought.

There are a number of organic and recycled cotton totes on the promotional items market, but until the  B15CR Recycled 15″ Cotton Tote from Garyline most sustainable cotton totes were priced at a premium to standard cotton and canvas bags. It seems that Garyline has broken that mold.

BPA-Free and Made In USA


The TB28 – 28 oz. Transparent Color Bottle from Garyline has a lot going for it that most folks would not see at first glance.


The TB28 – 28 oz. Transparent Color Bottle is not only made with post-consumer recycled food-compliant PETE (CPSIA certificate). It is also BPA-free and union made in the USA.


There are a few Made in the USA eco-friendly items on the market, corn plastic mugs from QuickPoint come to mind, however not many union made items like the Post-Consumer Recycled, Food-Compliant PETE TB28.


As a water bottle the TB28 runs 2-7/8″ diameter x 9-3/4″ tall with a wrap imprint area of 3 1/2″ x 8″. The TB28 has a second wrap imprint band on its neck of  3/4″ x 8″.


Bottle color options are Clear, Smoke, Transparent Blue, Transparent Yellow, Transparent Green, Transparent Orange, Transparent Pink, Transparent Red, Transparent Teal, and Transparent Violet. Custom colors are available for runs over 5000 units. That is a lot of color options for an eco item.


This Made in the USA eco bottle is going to work for any incentive program currently using water bottles, and will work that much better for programs developed for conservation, green energy, parks, and other environmentally oriented organizations or programs.


Made in the USA (Garyline is in the Bronx, NY) means the total carbon footprint on these bottles  is much less than those shipped in from China, and the Union badge makes them a better option for political and union programs than bottles runs overseas. All Garyline Tote Bags Meet Current Federal Guidelines for Safety

[Reprinting of Nov 16th release to industry from manufacturer Garyline. We’ve all heard about the lead found in popular reusable tote bags used by major retailers such as Walmart, Winn-Dixie, Target and others, and your customers are probably asking questions. Are the bags and other products I’m buying from you safe? Several of our MVPLPs & PLPs have stepped up to the plate to ensure that they are complying with all laws and safety regulations. We are reprinting their statements to us as they are received.]


All Garyline Tote Bags meet current Federal Guidelines for Safety


Recent stories about lead content in retail tote bags have caused concern.There is no federal regulation concerning allowable amounts of lead in tote bags,but we have set what we believe is the highest standard for the tote bags in ourproduct line.


The current CPSC limit for Children’s Products is 300 ppm (parts per million).This will change to 100 ppm in August 2011. These laws do not apply to totebags, but we will use 100 ppm as our new standard for compliance.


Last year we purchased an XRF Heavy Metal Detector so we are able to test allbags in our current inventory in all colors. Any item /color that exceeds 100ppmfor Total Lead will be quarantined from stock and will not be sold.


All test results will be posted on our website and Certificates of Compliance willbe revised in a few days to reflect the most recent results.


Product Safety is a primary concern. So, while no law currently exists to regulatethe lead content in tote bags, we are proactively and voluntarily holding ourselvesto the 100ppm standard that will exist for children’s products in August 2011.


We have stock in many colors that have already been lot tested. If youhave an open order we will notify you if we find the presence of lead above100ppm. If you have a new order, we can provide test results for any color /style. On request, we can test samples from an individual order prior toshipping.


Consumers are rightly concerned about product safety, and they deserveanswers and corrective action from suppliers. Some will cite the lack of a federalstandard as reason for inaction. We are taking steps to meet a new higherstandard that has not even been proposed at this time. If the laws change to anew standard, we will be ready. If the laws remain as they are, then we’ll feelbetter that we took the time and made the effort to take the safest possiblecourse for our distributor clients and end-users.
