Albany Bamboo Notebook with Pen

2 Feb

The Albany Bamboo Notebook with Pen is a very classic looking journal for at a decorated price under $8 eqp. With the number of screens, tablets, and smartphones we are all tied to throughout the day, our industry has seen a rise in sales of notepads over the last few years.

People seem to like the feel of writing in a real journal, and the feel of a pen on paper. For me, I tend to keep a pad on my – real – desktop, and carry one into meetings, simply because I find it quicker to make a notation.

The spiral bound Albany Bamboo Notebook with Pen is beautiful notebook, and feels good in the hand. The Albany Bamboo Notebook with Pen features a bamboo cover and recycled paper pages (80 lined writing pages). Over all size is 5 3/4″ W x 7 1/8″ H x 3/4″ D.

Imprinting for the Albany Bamboo Notebook is done by screen printing, with four pad locations possible for imprint, including the back center. Maximum imprint is up to 3 spot colors per location.

The size of the Albany Bamboo Notebook makes it a great item to mail pre-meeting. Maybe with a short hello letter, and some overview materials, providing the client a place to jot notes during your Zoom call.

Bamboo Cutting Board with Knife

5 Jan

Natural board – 13.39″ H X 9.21″ W X 0.63″ D

The home has always been the best place to get your promotional items into the hands of your clients, the idea being, that if your item reaches the home, your client will interact with it more often, continually keeping your services top of mind.

With us all spending so much time a home, practical and useful, promotional items like the – simply titled – Bamboo Cutting Board with Knife, make an even strong case for that idea.

As the name suggests, the Bamboo Cutting Board with Knife is made from bamboo. Bamboo is a quick growling and sustainable material. One of the bigger environmental benefits of bamboo is its ability to absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen during growth. Also it grows just fine without a lot of pesticides or herbicides, and needs very little water.

Over the last few decades most ‘wooden’ items in the promotion products market, have moved from hardwoods, like oak or maple, to bamboo. In truth this has a lot to do with cost as well as sustainability, as bamboos is simply a cheaper raw ingredient for manufacturing.

The Bamboo Cutting Board with Knife is a clean design that will look at home in the modern kitchen. As well an bring a bit of a natural touch as a cooking tool. From the manufacturer, “this innovative natural bamboo cutting board includes a built in carving knife with stainless steel blade and soft touch handle. The cutting board features silicone corner accents to prevent the board from slipping as well as a swivel stand to display the board upright. Cutting board measures 13.39″ x 9.21″.”

The decoration method for the Bamboo Cutting Board with Knife is laser engrave,  which will hold up nicely to daily use and washings of the board.

These cutting boards do qualify for our Perfectly Packaged Service, so, if needed, we can send them boxed, and directly to individual recipients.

Lunch box design with cutting board

26 Nov

This new Bamboo Fiber Lunch Box with Cutting Board Lid makes a nice end of year gift for employees, as well as works well as a marketing idea for corporate wellness programs.

From the manufacturer, “This innovative food storage piece features a bamboo lid that doubles as a cutting board. The lid has a silicone lining and silicone band to ensure food is kept secure in the container. The item is made of 55% bamboo fiber and 45% resin. This container is not suitable for liquids and must be used for solid food only. This item is not suitable to be used in the microwave. Due to the nature of the bamboo material, variations in laser imprinting quality may occur. Through a partnership with 1% For The Planet, one percent of sales of this and all EcoSmart products will be donated to nonprofits dedicated to protecting the planet.”

The Bamboo Fiber Lunch Box with Cutting Board Lid is made from Bamboo Fiber and Melamine. Bamboo is bamboo, a quick growing, hardwood like grass, used a lot in the promotional products industry. Melamine I had to look up. Apparently, melamine is, “an organic-based, nitrogen-rich compound used to manufacture cooking utensils, plates, plastic products, and more. Melamine resin is durable, fire and heat resistant and virtually unbreakable, making melamine products more desirable than other plastic housewares.”

Honestly I am not sure what organic-based means in this context. It is still not microwavable. “Keep melamine tableware cool, and use it only for serving and storage”. Here is the FDA FAQ page on melamine, https://www.fda.gov/food/chemicals/melamine-tableware-questions-and-answers.

So, I don’t know. I think I would stay will 100% bamboo containers, or stoneware, or glass. Or maybe take a look at the new stainless steel h2go essen from ETS Express.  The h20 essen is not making any sustainability claims, but a least we know what stainless steel is.

13″ Tree Of Life Serving Board

9 Oct

Totally Bamboo is a family-owned company in San Marcos, California.

This 13″ Tree Of Life Serving Board from Totally Bamboo makes a great holiday or VIP gift for folks in the hospitality, foods services, construction, and real estate industries.

From the website, “Not only is this an exquisite board to use and display, look closely and you’ll see more than 800 images of exotic and endangered animals laser engraved into the surface. Our Tree of Life board was designed to reflect the importance of trees for ALL life, so it’s only natural that we craft it from sustainable, earth-loving bamboo.”

This 3-1/2″ x 13″ x 5/8″ certainly makes a statement. The back of the board can be decorated with your company logo, contact information, or even a special message to your audience. Using the 13″ Tree Of Life Serving Board as an award is therefor also an option.

I like Bamboo because it is basically a grass, and a sustainable material because it is easy to grow and easy to harvest. I like cutting boards because they are a useful, long lasting, practical promotional item. So win-win, as people say. Proforma has had a working relationship with Totally Bamboo for more than a decade, and ourselves and or clients are always impressed with their quality.

Wood PopSockets Grip

19 Apr

Introducing a Wood PopSockets® Grip!

PopSockets seem to be everywhere. Now they are available in bamboo and rosewood varieties.

The material first. Bamboo is considered a sustainable material because of how it is grown and harvested. Basically it is a grass, yet people treat it like a old growth hardwood, by which I mean bamboo has a very high perceived value. Rosewood is more problematic, as it is a real hardwood, and being able to trace its point of origin for products is sometimes nearly impossible. The issues with rosewood mostly revolve around where and how the wood itself is harvested.

Popsockets is making no claims of sustainability. Which is fine, and for that matter, honest. They are seeing the introduction of these woods in the most part as a marketing advantage, as a simple materials options, and nothing more.

From the Popsockets website “It just keeps getting better! Introducing a Wood PopSockets® Grip! Available in Bamboo and Rosewood, the unique wood finish lends perfectly to a classic laser engraving. The back of anyone’s phone is prime real estate for any promotion, and the best part is that a PopSockets Grip can be used on almost any brand of phone or phone case.”

Still, if your brand is about sustainability, and you have been thinking about marketing programs built around PopSockets, or one off their many competitors, at least this bamboo version allows for an option that will look like it belongs with your program.

Bamboo Wine Bottle and Glasses Valet

4 Sep

The bamboo wine valet is perfect for showcasing your favorite bottle of wine and two glasses. Convenient for carrying wine bottle and glasses all in one hand.

If you have followed this blog for a while you know that we like bamboo.

Bamboo is basically grass so we consider it a sustainable building material because it is easy to grow and easy to harvest.

Inside of the promotional products industry there’s often a bamboo equivalent for a lot of the plastic items out there.

Take for example this nifty wine glass holder from Leeds.

The Bamboo Wine Bottle and Glasses Valet provides a very clean look for delivering a bottle and glasses to an outside patio setting. Whether you are the patio (i.e restaurant) or the bottle (vineyard), this is a solid piece that can be used as a point of purchase item, gift, or just used in daily service.

The decoration option on the Bamboo Wine Bottle and Glasses Valet is a center laser engrave (0.75″ H x 3.00″ W), and there are optional laser initials areas about the circular wine stem holds.

Because of the flat design the Bamboo Wine Bottle and Glasses Valet is an easy to ship item, so it could even be used in a mailing campaign.

Take one out for a test drive of the last of the summer wine.
