An error that happens a often in our industry is also a simple mistake, an assumption really, on the part of our clients. The tee shirts and baseball caps, etc., that we design and produce for our clients are always printed here in Texas, or at another USA decorator.  So decoration is nearly always America. This fact sometimes allows client to drift into thinking they are getting a USA made tee shirt. They are not. They are getting a USA printed tee shirts, but the manufacturer of the tee shirt itself could be Mexico, Honduras, Vietnam, China, etc.

Since most of the time a tee shirt order comes down to what does the tee shirt cost, the shirt’s actual origin story is not very relevant. Except, of course, when it is. Some Union clients, some Universities, some political clients, really do want an 100% made/decorated in the USA tee. That pedigree is important to their ‘brand’ and the audiences they are trying to reach.

So enter the Port & Company® – All-American Tee. From the Port & Company website, “Our All-American Tee is 100% made in the USA. From the cotton to the fabric manufacturing to the sewing of the finished tee, our All-American Tees help create and sustain jobs right here in America.” They even go so far as to make available a Certificate of Authenticity.

Make no mistake, this tee shirt will cost more than a tee made outside of the USA. But not that much more. And often, when the reputation of your brand is based on being local, sustainable, or US based, it is worthwhile to spend a bit more to align with your brand values.

If you are interested in the Port & Company® – All-American Tee to promote your business, or to get a sample, email info@proformagreen.com for information and pricing.

And as always, if you really want to do something sustainable, do not buy promotional products. All products are consumption at one level or another. So if you must buy, 1) Buy local (i.e. made in USA), 2) Buy useful, long lasting items, 3) Buy sustainable/recycled/recyclable products if possible.
