Pacesetter Awards caught our attention at the Proforma 2009 Convention in Denver with their range of award plaques made from eco-friendly materials. Not only is Pacesetter Awards working with some new materials; the actual finishes, plus the multiple sizes and shapes of their products seem to place them ahead of their peers. Unfortunately none of the new line is yet on view at the Pacesetter Awards website or virtual catalog.
Pacesetter is using three materials in their eco-friendly line:
- Bamboo – Pacesetter is using bamboo “that is grown in an environmentally responsible manner which meets international standards for sustainable and renewable forests.” They also point out that bamboo does not require replanting after harvesting and that their product in formaldehyde free. Color options are Natural or Amber.
- PlantationRed – This is a Pacesetter registered material made from plantation grown Eucalyptus wood which Pacesetter says meets international standards for sustainable forests. This wood is an excellent alternative to slow grow woods like cherry and mahogany.
- Biocomposite – This material is made from recycled newsprint in which soy additives are added to naturally create the distinctive colors of Emerald, Mocha Granite and Imperial.
For Ecopreneurists these plaques from Pacesetter are all great ideas for employee appreciation, awards and recognition, even basic signage. Basically any application in which a plaque from old growth / slow growth wood is now being used.
In addition to award plaques, Pacesetter is also making coaster sets, keepsake boxes, and bookends. All of these eco-friendly items are at the same price point or lower than similar items made from traditional materials. For example their large 9″ x 12″ bamboo plaques run EQP $59.00.
If you are interested in these items to promote your own business contact your local promotional items vendor or email info@proformagreen.com for information and pricing.
