Well Sweda USA is going green and they are doing it with all the style and flare they are famous for in their traditional line.
When I asked Lakisha Higgins at Sweda Strategic Accounts for information on new green items for 2009 I was impressed by the list sent. I was even more impressed with the amount of colors and style used in the Sweda green line.
I have written before about how an easy first step for any business looking to go green in their operations is to just change to eco-friendly items in regards to things they use every day. In my opinion the top four items on that list are mugs, pens, post-its and notebooks/stationary.
The new Chubby Eco Gel Pen from Sweda is a great place to start. We all use pens and for most ecopreneurists they are also cheap, easy giveaway items. The thing about the Chubby Eco Gel Pen is it doesn’t “look” green. It looks fun.
I love the colors of this pen and the fact it is a gel writer, as I think gel pens are much smoother writers than traditional ballpoints – even if they run a bit more.
The eco part comes from the fact the pens are made from 72% biodegradable material being manufactured from cornstarch not petroleum plastic. EQP on these items is $0.99 with one color imprint.
Yes there are cheaper eco-pens. Yes there are pens made from 100% biodegradable material, like those from Shepenco. However the Chubby Eco Gel Pen is certainly worth a look as an eye-catching and eco marketing tool.
